Orange County shooting: 4 dead, including shooter, at Cook’s Corner bar in Trabuco Canyon, California

SUMMARY: Three people were killed and five others were injured in a shooting at a biker bar called Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon, California. The gunman, a retired police officer with the Ventura Police Department, was also killed by deputies. The shooting took place after 7 p.m. and deputies quickly engaged in gunfire with the shooter. Four people, including the shooter, were pronounced dead on the scene and six others were taken to the hospital. The bar, which is known as the oldest motorcycle bar in Southern California, is a popular gathering spot for motorcycle riders and enthusiasts.

SUMMARY: In October 2019, an EF-3 tornado caused over a billion dollars in damage in North Dallas, impacting areas such as the Marsh Lane Plaza shopping center. The damaged center, located at Walnut Hill and Marsh, has been demolished and largely rebuilt. Several new businesses including Jake's restaurant, a luxury nail salon, a dentist, and a doughnut shop are set to open in the coming weeks. Rankin Grote of Hopkins Commercial Real Estate states the area will offer upscale, family-friendly options. Additional tenants include Texas Resources, a coffee shop, an ice cream store, and a barber shop. The rebuild is expected to be completed by year-end.

Lake Travis boys finish fourth in national high school golf tournament

SUMMARY: The Lake Travis Cavaliers, winners of the UIL Class 6A boys golf championship, finished fourth at the 2024 PGA High School National Golf Invitational in Frisco, Texas. Coach Dustin Payne expressed the team’s enthusiasm upon receiving the invitation. Lake Travis scored 1-over 865 across three rounds, playing both courses at the PGA complex and an additional course in McKinney. Wimberley’s Jaxon Donaldson tied for 41st, and Vandegrift will compete in the girls’ tournament starting July 8.
