New Caney Buddhist Temple firebombed by suspected arsonist caught on video throwing Molotov cocktail
SUMMARY: The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's office is investigating an incident where someone attempted to burn down the Huyen Trang Buddhist Meditation Centre in New Caney, Texas. The owners of the facility are grateful that no one was injured. Surveillance video captured the moment when an individual threw a firebomb into the building. The facility director, Susan Nguyen, is unsure why this happened and feels scared. She had a friend staying in the center who used a carpet to put out the fire. Nguyen also recalls her mobile home on the same property randomly catching fire in October 2022, raising suspicions of foul play. If anyone recognizes the individual in the surveillance images, they are urged to contact authorities in Montgomery County.

Rafah is a dusty, rubble-strewn ghost town 2 months after Israel invaded to root out Hamas – KXAN Austin
SUMMARY: Rafah, a city in the Gaza Strip, has become a deserted, war-ravaged area following a two-month Israeli military invasion targeting Hamas, their final stronghold in Gaza. Abandoned buildings and rubble dominate the landscape, with few civilians remaining. Israel alleges that Hamas turned civilian areas into combat zones, creating deadly traps. Approximately 1.4 million Palestinians fled to Rafah, now reduced to around 50,000 under dire conditions in a “humanitarian area.” Aid efforts are stalled, with dangerous routes and limited access to resources. The humanitarian crisis worsens as Israel pushes forward its offensive, despite significant challenges in aid delivery and civilian survival.
