SUMMARY: Austin's homeless crisis continues to challenge city leaders due to insufficient shelter and housing. Nonprofit Mobile Loaves and Fishes is addressing this by building affordable housing in a neighborhood called Community First Village. This initiative has expanded to over 500 homes on 51 acres, with plans for further expansion. The approach focuses on creating a community rather than just providing housing. Founder Allen Graham emphasizes the need for a relational model to address homelessness and believes in mitigating the issue rather than solving it entirely. The success of Community First Village has inspired replication in other cities across the country.

A big expansion is underway at the Community First Village in northeast Travis County. FOX 7's John Krinjak talks with the man behind the movement in this FOX 7 Focus.
