Donald Trump returns to court Friday for his hush money trial – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
SUMMARY: The prosecution in Donald Trump's hush money trial is working to directly link Trump to payments to silence women with damaging claims before the 2016 election. Jurors are hearing evidence, including a recording of Trump and Michael Cohen discussing a plan to pay off an ex-Playboy model. Prosecutors are building their case by presenting detailed testimony about meetings, emails, transactions, and bank accounts. Trump's defense argues he was protecting his reputation and family, not his campaign. Witnesses have included Keith Davidson, a lawyer who represented two women in hush money negotiations. Trump faces 34 counts related to falsifying Trump Organization business records.

SUMMARY: The Perseid meteor shower, one of the year's best, runs from July 17 to August 24, peaking on August 11-12 with up to 100 meteors per hour visible. Originating from the constellation Perseus, these “swift and bright” meteors are easy to spot. Best viewed from the Northern Hemisphere during pre-dawn hours, it's recommended to avoid city lights. Other July showers include the Delta Aquariids, peaking on July 30 with 15-20 meteors per hour, and the Alpha Capricornids, with 2-5 per hour peaking on July 31. Meteor showers occur when Earth passes through a comet's tail, with the Perseids stemming from the Swift-Tuttle Comet.

ATCEMS places time capsule in historic Station One amid renovations
SUMMARY: Austin-Travis County EMS celebrated the renovation of their historic Station One by embedding a time capsule in its walls. Station One, located at 3616 South 1st Street, was the nation's first standalone EMS station, originally opened on April 15, 1982. The recent renovations were funded by a bond package approved by voters in 2018. The station has hosted various response vehicles and served as a home for many medics over the years. The time capsule represents a unique opportunity for current Austinites to connect with future generations. A send-off event for the station took place in 2021 before remodeling began.
