Suspect killed in deadly Southwest Austin officer-involved shooting identified | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Police have identified Alonso Gonzalez as the man killed by officers during a standoff in southeast Austin last week. Gonzalez barricaded himself in a gas station after being found with a stolen vehicle, and an employee was held hostage. Despite hostage negotiators' efforts, Gonzalez remained inside, shooting at officers and pouring lighter fluid around the store. When he began making a Molotov cocktail, officers deemed this an imminent threat to the employee and shot Gonzalez. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. The gas station employee was unharmed.
