East Austin historic neighborhood redevelopment pushes completion to 2024 | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The redevelopment of Rosewood Courts in East Austin, a historic public housing complex for African Americans, is well underway, with heavy equipment transforming the site into the new Pathways at Rosewood Courts. Initially expected to complete by fall 2024, supply chain and labor issues have delayed the project to mid-2025 for the first building, and the complete site by late 2025. The multi-million dollar project by the Austin Housing Authority will offer 184 new apartment units and 12 affordable townhomes. Despite initial skepticism, the redevelopment aims to honor the community's past while providing modern housing and new opportunities for residents.
The redevelopment of a historic neighborhood in east Austin is taking longer than expected. FOX 7 Austin's Rudy Koski spoke with the Austin Housing Authority about the delay.

Hurricane Beryl Update: Dropped to Category 3 hurricane, could make landfall in Texas Monday
SUMMARY: The National Hurricane Center’s 7 a.m. advisory reports that the hurricane remains a Category 3 with 120 mph winds, impacting the Cayman Islands, where hurricane warnings are in effect. The storm, though downgraded from Category 4, is still powerful. It is expected to make landfall south of Cancun early tomorrow as potentially a Category 1 hurricane, then move across the Yucatan into the southern Gulf of Mexico. A second landfall is likely south of Brownsville, near the Mexico-South Texas border, early Monday. Long-range models suggest the storm could eventually impact parts of Central and North Texas.
Hurricane Beryl was dropped to a Category 3 hurricane, but it is still a dangerous storm. FOX 4 meteorologist Kylie Capps shows the storms latest track, including the increasing chances that it will make landfall in Texas.
