Fifth Ward couple gifted free central A/C ahead of summer heat

In April, Bodensteiner Services sought a Houston homeowner in need of a new HVAC system. Out of more than 400 applicants, 76-year-old Rand Elder and his wife were chosen due to their severe circumstances. Elder, who is legally blind and unable to walk, had been without AC since April last year and a working heater for 15 years.
