SUMMARY: Police are investigating an attack on a mail carrier that occurred on Saturday in a Southwest Fort Worth neighborhood. The postal worker is unharmed but shaken. Postal inspectors, who have federal authority similar to the FBI, are offering a $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two suspects. The suspects, described as two Black males in dark clothing, targeted the mail carrier for a postal key, part of a nationwide trend. The Postal Service has implemented Project SAFE Delivery to protect mail carriers, which includes electronic locks and high-security collection boxes. What’s going on with the Lake Livingston Dam? KPRC 2 digs into the problem, finds answers on the fix

Published

on

www.youtube.com – KPRC 2 Click2Houston – 2024-07-03 19:00:30

SUMMARY: This report highlights two significant issues discovered along the Trinity River, affecting the dam and surrounding infrastructure. The first issue, found in May, involves erosion around a westward training wall, leading to partial failure. The second, discovered last week, involves severe erosion at the base of a support structure near the dam’s apron, prompting federal emergency alerts. In response, the Trinity River Authority is taking three major actions: lowering Lake Livingston’s water level, moving 100 truckloads of rock daily, and pumping concrete for essential repairs. These measures aim to ensure the dam’s safety before any tropical storms hit, with final repairs expected by month’s end.

Nearly a week after the Trinity River Authority declared a “potential failure watch” for the Lake Livingston Dam, we’re learning about the damage done during flooding earlier this year.
