KPRC2 meteorologist Britney Begley highlights a Memorial City nursing home's innovative solution: providing respite stays for seniors, ensuring their safety and comfort if their air conditioning fails or if families are away. Additionally, seniors are encouraged to stay active using light weights with simple exercises while staying hydrated. The importance of hydration is emphasized, especially with high temperatures reaching up to 109 degrees. Carrying water and staying indoors are crucial measures to beat the heat. The segment underscores the necessity of hydration across all ages.

Meteorologist Brittany Begley stopped by Memorial City and Rehabilitation to share tips on Respite Care and how seniors can stay healthy in this hot weather. Brittany spoke with Administrator Cassandra Noble and Ellen Ofield, Director of Rehabilitation, to provide valuable insights to keep you cool and safe this summer.

www.youtube.com – FOX 7 Austin – 2024-07-01 19:19:37

SUMMARY: On the final day of its term, the Supreme Court issued a significant ruling affecting Donald Trump and possibly all former and future presidents regarding prosecution for actions taken while in office. In a 6-3 decision, the Court granted former presidents broad protections for their official acts, complicating Special Counsel Jack Smith's election interference case against Trump. Chief Justice John Roberts stated that a president might not be prosecuted for exercising core constitutional powers, while Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented, arguing it undermines the principle that no one is above the law. The decision has spurred significant backlash from Democrats.

The Supreme Court ruled on presidential immunity, and the decision came down to ideological lines. For now, Former President Donald Trump's election interference case remains on hold.
