Houston Police Department’s new assistant chief under investigation for missing city property valued at $25K, docs say
SUMMARY: Adrian Rodriguez, a recently promoted Houston police assistant chief, is under investigation following the disappearance of $25,000 worth of property from a police substation in Kingwood, Texas. Previously assigned as the substation’s commander, Rodriguez reportedly inquired about taking old security gates for personal use. The gates, initially replaced and left at the substation, vanished over a weekend. Despite a Houston General Services Department liaison permitting Rodriguez to take broken gate pieces, they were entire gate panels. An internal investigation is ongoing, spurred by an ABC13 lookout and subsequent police report categorizing the incident as theft. Rodriguez remains active.
