Will we see the northern lights again in 2024?
SUMMARY: Skywatchers have witnessed stunning celestial events this year, including a total solar eclipse, the return of the “devil comet,” and vibrant displays of the northern lights. A potential “once-in-a-lifetime” explosive event could bring a new star to the night sky soon. The northern lights might appear again this summer, with solar storms pushing them as far south as Florida and Hawaii in May. These lights result from solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) colliding with Earth's magnetic field. Increased solar activity due to Solar Cycle 25 could mean more frequent auroras through 2025 and beyond.

Houston man charged with bigamy after wife finds out about second wedding through Facebook, records show
SUMMARY: A Houston woman, Tammie, discovered through social media that her husband, Marcus Andra Shorten, was getting re-married despite still being married to her. Shorten, 53, is charged with bigamy but hasn’t been arrested. Houston police found two marriage licenses but no divorce decree. Tammie, his third wife, separated from him in 2019 but didn’t divorce due to his fear of being seen as a failure. She confronted him after learning of the new wedding plans in December. Despite this, Shorten and his new wife married in January. Bigamy, a rare third-degree felony, can result in up to 10 years in prison.
