SUMMARY: Over the weekend, wildlife officers killed three coyotes at San Francisco Botanical Garden after a coyote bit a 5-year-old girl at the facility. The attacks occurred during supervised summer camp activities in Golden Gate Park. The girl was treated for her injuries at a hospital. Authorities, led by spokesperson Patrick Foy of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, euthanized the coyotes to test for rabies and collect DNA samples to identify the attacking animal. More coyote killings might occur if the DNA doesn't match. The garden reopened on Monday, following the incident.

SUMMARY: Central Texans are contributing fans and funds to Family Eldercare's Summer Fan Drive to keep people cool amid the summer heat. Donations of box fans can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at various locations including KXAN and Roger Beasley Mazda dealerships. Additionally, online donations are accepted. Family Eldercare, an Austin-based organization, has hosted this drive for over 30 years, providing vital support such as case management and housing services. Last year, the initiative raised over $231,000 and collected 740 fans. As of July 5, Family Eldercare had distributed nearly 4,000 fans, helping over 6,000 people in Texas.
