SUMMARY: Temperatures in Central Texas have been reaching record highs, with temperatures not dropping below 100 degrees until late in the evening. Despite the heat, people are still enjoying outdoor activities, such as watching the play “Matilda” at the Zilker Hillside Theatre. The executive director of Zilker Theatre Productions suggests beating the heat by going for a swim before the show. Attendees are also bringing fans, mister water bottles, and cooling blankets to stay cool during the performance. The show is not affected by the heat as it starts after the sun goes down. The play will run until August 12th with free admission.
