How Austin enforces its fireworks ordinance

Published

on

www.kxan.com – Julianna Russ – 2024-07-04 09:00:00

SUMMARY: Since Austin adopted its fireworks ordinance, the storage, use, and handling of fireworks within city limits became illegal. Despite this change, AFD maintains a street presence, and the Fire Marshal's Office continues to issue citations and prosecute those responsible for fires caused by fireworks.
