How Galveston is preparing for Beryl
SUMMARY: Galveston Island Beach Patrol is preparing for increased crowds and strong surf due to Tropical Storm Beryl, which may bring dangerous rip currents and surf conditions. Following a busy July 4 holiday, lifeguards are advising beachgoers to be cautious of water conditions and heat over the upcoming weekend. With storm impacts still uncertain, preparations include potentially moving equipment if tides reach critical levels. Warnings such as red flags indicate unsafe swimming conditions, and lifeguards advise non-swimmers and children to stay out of the water.
