SUMMARY: Hurricane Beryl struck Texas as a Category 1 hurricane, causing ports in Houston and Galveston to remain closed. Port Houston plans to resume normal operations on Wednesday with extended gate hours. The storm led to flooding, power outages affecting over 2.5 million homes and businesses, and resulted in eight fatalities across Texas and Louisiana.
