A New North Texas Theme Park Breaks Ground

SUMMARY: Merlin Entertainments has broken ground on a Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills, Texas. The park, which will open in 2024, will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, themed-landscapes, and shows based on the popular television series. One of the main attractions will be “Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster,” designed specifically for young children. The 14-acre site, located at the former Mountasia Family Fun Center, will be next to the city’s water park, NRH2O. The park is expected to hire around 100 employees later this year. Winter Haven, Florida also has a Peppa Pig Theme Park.

SUMMARY: A driver, 36-year-old Alex Tuan Vuong, has been arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid after allegedly hitting and killing 10-year-old Mohammad Khel on July 4th in Harris County, Texas. Mohammad was struck by a dark SUV while riding his bicycle in the Grand Oaks subdivision. Vuong is currently held in the Harris County jail. Investigators reported that after running a stop sign and hitting Mohammad, the driver continued for nearly a mile with the boy’s bike wedged underneath, before stopping to remove it at Greenhouse and Kieth Harrow.
