American skier Breezy Johnson facing doping investigation – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

SUMMARY: Downhill skier Breezy Johnson is being investigated by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency which could result in a two-year ban. She has opted not to race until the investigation is complete. The investigation is concerning “whereabouts” rules, which all elite athletes must update to inform anti-doping authorities where they can be found at any given time. Johnson received support from teammate Mikaela Shiffrin. American athletes have previously received 18-month bans in similar cases. Johnson previously had seven podium finishes in World Cup races and placed seventh in the 2018 Olympics. She missed the 2022 Beijing Olympics due to a knee injury. Her skiing career peaked in 2021 with several impressive finishes.
