Crews begin taking down millions of lights at Zilker Park’s Trail of Lights
SUMMARY: The 59th annual Trail of Lights in Austin has come to a close, and crews have started taking down the millions of lights in Zilker Park. The park is expected to be back to normal by January 8th. Over 1,000 volunteers helped bring the holiday tradition to life this year, and planning for next year will begin in January. The 60th anniversary of the Trail of Lights will be in 2024. Some people make New Year's resolutions to transform themselves, while others just want the park to be transformed back into a park after hosting the event.

SUMMARY: A third suspect was arrested in connection with the deadly June 15 shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock, Texas. The incident at Old Settlers Park resulted in two deaths and 14 injuries after a fight broke out between two groups, with innocent bystanders being the victims. 18-year-old Keshawn Dixon was apprehended in Killeen, charged with deadly conduct, and taken to Bell County Jail.
