SUMMARY: Dickinson Mayor Sean Skipworth was saved from a recall election by the city council’s decision to uphold the invalidation of a recall petition. The petition, which gathered hundreds of signatures, was deemed incomplete by the city due to missing legal requirements. Despite support for the recall effort, the council voted not to proceed with the election. Residents expressed disappointment over the process, with one calling it “sad and depressing.” The mayor was not present during the vote and stated he could not legally abstain.
