Lozano alleged that her boyfriend, a Baylor football player, assaulted her twice during her senior year. Despite reporting the incidents to teachers, clinic, counselors, and filing a police report, her boyfriend was not charged, and Baylor failed to act under Title 9. A jury awarded Lozano $270,000 for negligence, and Baylor was found guilty of a Title 9 offense. Lozano plans to give the money to nonprofits supporting domestic abuse survivors and hopes for updates to Title 9 policies and procedures.
