New health warning issued about the dangers of water bead toys – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
SUMMARY: Water beads, marketed as colorful sensory toys for children, have been found to be a serious health hazard. The beads can be small enough to swallow and expand in water, causing gastrointestinal blockages when ingested. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued warnings about certain water bead products containing toxic chemicals, leading to recalls by retailers and advocacy for a ban on sales. Ingestion of water beads has resulted in serious health issues for children, including a brain injury from chemical exposure. Parents are advised to supervise children closely when playing with water beads and take precautions to prevent ingestion or inhalation.

Supreme Court to rule on Trump Immunity
SUMMARY: The Supreme Court is concluding its term unusually late, meeting into early July, with a highly anticipated decision pending. The case concerns whether former President Donald Trump is immune from prosecution related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. This case was argued on April 25, and its delayed resolution impacts the potential for Trump to stand trial before the November election. The timing of the court’s decision is crucial, as the delay means Trump is unlikely to face trial before the election, regardless of the ruling’s outcome. (© 2024 The Associated Press.
