Second man charged with theft of ruby slippers worn in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

SUMMARY: A second man has been charged in connection with the 2005 theft of Judy Garland's ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz.” Jerry Hal Saliterman from Minnesota has been charged with theft of a major artwork and witness tampering. The slippers were stolen from a museum in Garland's hometown and were recovered by the FBI in 2018. Terry Jon Martin, who stole the slippers, pleaded guilty and was sentenced. The slippers' market value is estimated at $3.5 million, with only 4 pairs known to exist. The stolen slippers were returned to the owner and are set to be auctioned.
