SUMMARY: Simone Biles secured a spot in her third Olympics by winning the U.S. Olympic trials with a total score of 117.225. Three years after withdrawing from Tokyo events to focus on mental health, Biles looks stronger than ever at 27. Joining her in the five-woman team are Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and 16-year-old Hezly Rivera, with Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong as alternates. Biles returns with new personal safeguards, including regular therapy. The U.S. team, likely favorites, hope to reclaim the gold from Russia, who cannot compete due to political conflicts.
