SUMMARY: A report from the Houston Chronicle claims that troopers at the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas have been ordered to force small children and nursing babies back into the Rio Grande and to deny water to asylum seekers, even in extreme heat. She explains that the state's warm climate supports year-round fly activity, with heat accelerating their life cycle, leading to rapid population growth. Climate change is likely worsening the issue, as higher temperatures benefit flies and expand their habitable areas. To manage the infestation, Brown suggests regular trash removal, using outdoor garbage bins, and cleaning these bins with dish soap to eliminate fly-attracting odors.
