US ski star Mikaela Shiffrin hospitalized after World Cup crash – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
SUMMARY: Mikaela Shiffrin is recovering from a severe crash during a downhill ski race. Fortunately, there is no ligament damage in her left knee, but she will be unable to race this weekend. She crashed after she lost control during her run, landing on a soft patch of snow before slamming into the safety net. Despite this, Shiffrin is in relatively good spirits, according to her coach. Other skiers also crashed, and the sunny, warm conditions led to a high number of racers not finishing the event. Shiffrin's crash was a setback in an otherwise successful season, and there is no certainty when she will return to competition.
