Xavier Worthy, Texas Longhorns wide receiver, sets 40-yard dash record at 4.21 seconds

SUMMARY: Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set a new record at the 2024 NFL Combine by running the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds, beating the previous record set by John Ross. Worthy’s initial time was 4.25 seconds but he improved to 4.21 seconds. His 10-yard split of 1.49 seconds was tied for the fastest. Worthy’s former teammate Adonai Mitchell came in second among receivers with a time of 4.34 seconds. The Longhorns have a history of fast wide receivers at the combine, with Marquise Goodwin running it in 4.27 seconds in 2013.
