2024 Election: Who are the Republicans running for president?
SUMMARY: Republican candidates for president are preparing for their first debate in Milwaukee, but frontrunner Donald Trump has announced he will not attend. Trump argues that the public already knows who he is and touts his successful presidency. One opponent criticizes Trump for being afraid to answer for being a “proven loser.” Without the frontrunner on stage, other candidates hope to break away from the pack and introduce themselves to the country. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, consistently number two in national polls, is unlikely to attack Trump for skipping the debate. Some congressional Republicans have called for Trump to drop out, but others remain careful not to offend him.
Former president Donald Trump is making another run for the White House, but several other Republicans are challenging him for the party's nomination. #2024election #donaldtrump #news
