SUMMARY: Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and Infowars host, criticized a federal court ruling in Houston, Texas, ordering the liquidation of his personal assets. The ruling arises from Jones's false claims that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax. He must pay $1.5 billion to the bereaved families, who testified about harassment from his followers. Jones argues that the verdicts were pre-determined and fraudulent, aimed at ruining his reputation and financial standing. Despite his complaints, the ruling is seen as a step towards justice for the families affected by his harmful assertions.

A federal judge ordered the liquidation of Austin-based conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' personal assets. He owes more than a billion dollars for lies he spread about the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting.

SCOTUS rules on presidential immunity | FOX 7 Austin

www.youtube.com – FOX 7 Austin – 2024-07-01 19:19:37

SUMMARY: On the final day of its term, the Supreme Court issued a significant ruling affecting Donald Trump and possibly all former and future presidents regarding prosecution for actions taken while in office. In a 6-3 decision, the Court granted former presidents broad protections for their official acts, complicating Special Counsel Jack Smith's election interference case against Trump. Chief Justice John Roberts stated that a president might not be prosecuted for exercising core constitutional powers, while Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented, arguing it undermines the principle that no one is above the law. The decision has spurred significant backlash from Democrats.

The Supreme Court ruled on presidential immunity, and the decision came down to ideological lines. For now, Former President Donald Trump's election interference case remains on hold.
