SUMMARY: A potential rabid coyote that attacked three children at a North Arlington park is being tested for rabies. The park remains closed as federal wildlife officers survey the area for more coyotes. The coyote that was captured and euthanized is believed to be the one responsible for the attacks. The decision to close the park came after the third attack, and officials are waiting for the results of the rabies test to determine if more coyotes need to be captured. The initial reports of the attacks did not make it clear that multiple children had been bitten, leading to a delay in closing the park.

We may learn today if an aggressive coyote captured in a north Arlington park had rabies. A coyote attacked three children at the park within the past week. FOX 4's Dan Godwin reports on why it took several days before the city closed the park.
