SUMMARY: US Senators and local leaders in North Texas are working to bring attention to the fentanyl crisis. A meeting was held in Dallas where an overdose survivor shared their firsthand experience with the dangers of the drug. The Drug Enforcement Administration reports that fentanyl-related deaths in the US have increased nearly 300% since 2019. Senator John Cornyn is introducing new legislation to combat the crisis. The legislation includes increasing access to fentanyl testing strips and raising community awareness. Dallas Fire Rescue has implemented an overdose response team, and the city has approved funding for Narcan for police officers.

If passed, the act would increase access to fentanyl testing strips aimed at preventing deaths from accidental fentanyl poisoning. It would also raise community awareness of fentanyl testing capabilities.

Was “big boy” press conference enough to save Biden?

Published

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2024-07-12 09:46:39

SUMMARY: President Biden addressed his leadership capabilities during a conference after the NATO Summit, where he had both positive moments and some stumbles, such as mistakenly referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump.” He seemed more comfortable discussing serious foreign policy issues and downplayed concerns about scaling back his schedule. While some Democrats were frustrated, feeling his performance bought him more time rather than solidifying his re-election bid, Biden is now focused on engaging in more direct campaigning. Meanwhile, the Republican National Convention looms, with uncertainties surrounding former President Trump's VP announcement adding to the suspense.

FOX News Sunday's Shannon Bream talks about Joe Biden's “big boy” press conference on Thursday and why some Democrats are frustrated that it didn't go worse.
