Dallas Power Outages: Thousands still struggling without electricity
SUMMARY: Significant progress has been made in restoring power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses affected by severe weather in North and Central Texas, although around 80,000 Oncor customers, predominantly in Dallas County, remain without power. Initially, repairs were expected to conclude by today, but now they are projected to continue through the weekend. Many residents, like Diane and Jim Dhy, who've been without power since Tuesday, face challenges like spoiled groceries and managing diabetes medication. Oncor has deployed 12,000 personnel to address the outages, but additional storms have slowed efforts. Residents are advised to stay away from downed power lines and leave cleanup to professionals.
As of Friday, the Daughertys still don't have power, and the effects are piling up. They were forced to throw away nearly $500 worth of spoiled groceries.

SCOTUS rules on presidential immunity | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: On the final day of its term, the Supreme Court issued a significant ruling affecting Donald Trump and possibly all former and future presidents regarding prosecution for actions taken while in office. In a 6-3 decision, the Court granted former presidents broad protections for their official acts, complicating Special Counsel Jack Smith's election interference case against Trump. Chief Justice John Roberts stated that a president might not be prosecuted for exercising core constitutional powers, while Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented, arguing it undermines the principle that no one is above the law. The decision has spurred significant backlash from Democrats.
The Supreme Court ruled on presidential immunity, and the decision came down to ideological lines. For now, Former President Donald Trump's election interference case remains on hold.
