SUMMARY: Dallas has experienced significant flooding following weeks of heavy rain, leading to hazardous conditions and numerous emergencies. Over the past two weeks, North Texas has seen about eight inches of rain, saturating the ground and causing flash floods with minimal additional rainfall. Dallas Fire Rescue has handled nearly 100 high-water calls and multiple rescues, including extracting a man from a 60-foot embankment. Notably, there have been no major injuries reported. The flooding has disrupted traffic, with incidents like an 18-wheeler hanging off an overpass. Despite the brief dry period ahead, more rain is forecast for the weekend.

Traffic was a mess after the storms rolled through. Streets in low-lying areas flooded quickly from two weeks of saturation. This has been a busy stretch for Dallas Fire-Rescue as well.

SCOTUS rules on presidential immunity | FOX 7 Austin

Published

www.youtube.com – FOX 7 Austin – 2024-07-01 19:19:37

SUMMARY: On the final day of its term, the Supreme Court issued a significant ruling affecting Donald Trump and possibly all former and future presidents regarding prosecution for actions taken while in office. In a 6-3 decision, the Court granted former presidents broad protections for their official acts, complicating Special Counsel Jack Smith's election interference case against Trump. Chief Justice John Roberts stated that a president might not be prosecuted for exercising core constitutional powers, while Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented, arguing it undermines the principle that no one is above the law. The decision has spurred significant backlash from Democrats.

The Supreme Court ruled on presidential immunity, and the decision came down to ideological lines. For now, Former President Donald Trump's election interference case remains on hold.
