Baytown woman arrested, accused of leaving 2 children in locked car while getting her nails done
SUMMARY: Baytown mother Lydia Ailes, 28, faces charges for leaving her children in a hot car while she got her nails done. Police arrested her at Amazing Nails on G Road. Despite leaving the car’s air conditioning on, it wasn’t enough to keep the children cool; a thermal gun showed the interior temperature at 106°F. Surveillance footage captures Ailes entering the salon around 5:30 PM, and she was inside for about an hour. Authorities advise using methods like stuffed animals to remind drivers of children in the back seat. Newer cars with rear occupant alert systems can also help prevent such incidents.
