Kaitlin Armstrong murder trial: What to expect | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The murder trial of Caitlin Armstrong, accused of killing professional cyclist Anna Maria Wilson in May 2022, began today. The trial is expected to last until mid-November. Attorney Steve Brand discusses the potential evidence that may be presented, including Armstrong's escape attempt and her time in Costa Rica after the crime. He explains that if the prosecution is unable to present the Costa Rica evidence immediately, it may be used during the punishment phase if Armstrong is convicted. Brand also mentions that the defense will need to provide a reason for Armstrong's behavior, while the prosecution aims to determine who committed the crime. The trial is expected to be captivating due to the involvement of a potential boyfriend and the tragic loss of a young aspiring Olympian.
Opening statements begin Wednesday in the murder trial of Kaitlin Armstrong. She's accused of killing Anna Moriah Wilson, a professional cyclist, last May. Attorney Steve Brand joins us to talk about what we can expect to hear during the trial.

Urgent search for Baytown woman last seen with murder suspect before disappearance
SUMMARY: A man in Harris County Jail for murder is now accused of kidnapping 29-year-old Kaye Goodwin, missing from Baytown since April 21st. Quan Flowers, already charged with murdering Megan Rouse in May, kidnapped and assaulted Goodwin, though her whereabouts remain unknown. Goodwin’s mother received a call demanding $600, hearing her daughter’s cries for help. Baytown police, alongside Goodwin’s mother, are pleading for public assistance. Evidence traced to Houston suggested Flowers’ involvement in Goodwin’s case. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Baytown Crime Stoppers, as the community seeks answers and the family longs for peace.

What’s going on with the Lake Livingston Dam? KPRC 2 digs into the problem, finds answers on the fix
SUMMARY: This report highlights two significant issues discovered along the Trinity River, affecting the dam and surrounding infrastructure. The first issue, found in May, involves erosion around a westward training wall, leading to partial failure. The second, discovered last week, involves severe erosion at the base of a support structure near the dam’s apron, prompting federal emergency alerts. In response, the Trinity River Authority is taking three major actions: lowering Lake Livingston’s water level, moving 100 truckloads of rock daily, and pumping concrete for essential repairs. These measures aim to ensure the dam’s safety before any tropical storms hit, with final repairs expected by month’s end.
Nearly a week after the Trinity River Authority declared a “potential failure watch” for the Lake Livingston Dam, we’re learning about the damage done during flooding earlier this year.
