Lake levels remain low as boaters hit the water for Labor Day | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Over Labor Day weekend, Lake Travis in Texas saw low water levels at 38% for nearly a week. This has affected businesses and boat accessibility, with only one boat ramp open. County parks and popular spots like Windy Point and Hippie Hollow had significantly fewer visitors compared to previous years. Last year, the lake was 51% full during the same period. The Oasis on Lake Travis, a popular restaurant, reported a decline in customers due to the constant high temperatures, which have reached 100 degrees for an extended period. The heat has made outdoor activities less appealing for visitors. However, the scenic lake views remain a positive aspect for those still coming to the area.
Studies from Water Data for Texas show this time last year, Lake Travis was 51 percent full. Now, its at 38 percent.
