McKinney mail carrier helps reconnect homeless Vietnam vet with nearly $10K in lost cash
SUMMARY: Mail carrier Caroline Norton in McKinney is being celebrated for her honesty after finding $10,000 in cash on the side of the road and then turning it over to the police. It took months for the police to identify the owner, who turned out to be a homeless Vietnam veteran named Anthony Jablonski. He was living out of his car, which was hit by a semi-truck several hours before Norton found the money. The police were able to track down Jablonski's power of attorney, his pastor Raymond Bell, who confirmed that the money belonged to Jablonski. Despite the accident, Jablonski is now recovering and no longer homeless. Norton's honesty and decision to turn in the money has been praised, and she is being hailed as a hero for her selfless act.
McKinney mail carrier Carolyn Norton was driving to work this September when she saw $20 bills flying through the air. Norton helped collect the money and returned it. The cash belonged to a homeless Vietnam vet who had just been in a car crash. #mckinney #news

Significant rainfall is forecast, with 5-10 inches north of Corpus Christi and up to 1.5 feet in isolated areas. Eastern and southeastern counties could see 4-7 inches of rain. Winds and rain will persist into Monday, potentially causing flooding before exiting eastward.
