Besides Independence Day, the Copa America quarterfinals featuring Argentina and Ecuador will boost traffic, with about 1.9 million passengers expected—a record. Popular destinations include the Bahamas and Cancun, with most flights nearly full. Travelers should arrive 2 hours early for domestic and 3 for international flights. Construction won’t affect roads, and midday is typically less busy. For convenience, reserve parking online, check TSA wait times, and use intra-airport trains. Visit the airport’s website for more details.
Director of Aviation for the Houston Airport, Jim Szczesniak, shares how to navigate your travels during the busy flying season.
