North Texas school districts hiring more security
SUMMARY: Several school districts in North Texas, including the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), are requesting a waiver from the state regarding a new law on school security. In the meantime, adjustments will need to be made, such as sergeants being assigned to campuses and DISD police officers rotating through elementary schools. The districts have ruled out implementing a marshal program, where district staff would be armed.
