SUMMARY: The Perot Museum and Carnegie Observatories are partnering for an event to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipses. Astrophysicist Dr. John Mulcahy is excited about the rare total solar eclipse happening in April, the first in Dallas since 1878. There will also be a partial eclipse in October as a preview. Mulcahy advises people to take this opportunity because the next total solar eclipse won't occur until 2317. Special glasses are needed to view an eclipse safely. The Perot Museum will provide information and distribute a million glasses in the area. Mulcahy also mentions the James Webb Space Telescope and its potential for discovering life in the universe. October 14th will have hands-on activities and games related to the eclipse, while April 8th is the date for the Great North American Eclipse. Tickets for the event will be released on New Year's Day.

Two solar eclipses are headed our way. The Perot Museum and Carnegie Observatories have teamed up and will host events for the partial eclipse in October and the big total eclipse in April. Dr. John Mulchaey, a Carnegie deputy for science and an astrophysicist known for his work on galaxy groups, joined Good Day to share more.
