Police officers in Louisville, Kentucky, rescued a woman who they said had been kidnapped and chained to the floor, on Wednesday, August 16. Neighbors called police after hearing a woman's screams for help, coming from inside a house on Louisville's Boiling Avenue, the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) said. Police arrived on the scene and found the first floor of the house barricaded, but were able to enter from a window on the second floor, they said. This footage released by the LMPD shows the moment the officers discovered the distressed woman inside a room in the house. A thick chain can be seen wrapped around her neck and bolted to the floor. The officers used an axe to break the chain and free the woman, the footage shows. Emergency personnel provided treatment on the scene, the LMPD said. A male suspect was arrested two days later, according to police. The man was a former partner of the victim, local news reported.
