President Biden’s federal hurricane aid claim refuted by Gov. Abbott | FOX 7 Austin

SUMMARY: Governor Greg Abbott, on an economic development trip abroad, responded to President Biden's accusation that Abbott's inaccessibility delayed federal hurricane aid for Texas. Abbott refuted Biden's claim by stating that he had not missed any calls from Biden or FEMA officials regarding the disaster. The governor also addressed Houston's frequent power outages, highlighting the recent incident where Hurricane Barrel left over 2 million residents without power. Abbott directed the Public Utilities Commission to investigate the recurring power issues and provide findings before the next Texas legislative session. Despite being overseas, Abbott maintained regular communication with acting Governor Dan Patrick and emergency management officials.

A “bizarre unforced error” is how Governor Greg Abbott described President Biden's claim that federal hurricane aid to Texas was delayed because state leaders were unavailable to take his call.
