Pressure mounts from Dems, top donors for Joe Biden to drop out of re-election race
SUMMARY: President Biden faces increasing pressure from members of his own party and top donors to withdraw from the presidential race as the US hosts the NATO Summit. Actor George Clooney, in a New York Times op-ed, called for a new Democratic nominee three weeks after raising $30 million for Biden. Clooney claims that many Democrats privately share his view. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comments also suggest uncertainty about her support for Biden. Despite these domestic challenges, Biden’s campaign aims to showcase his leadership during the NATO Summit, with senior advisors set to update Senate Democrats on his re-election efforts.

President Biden delivers speech in Austin to commemorate anniversary of Civil Rights Act | FOX 7 Aus
SUMMARY: President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act on July 2, 1964. To commemorate its 60th anniversary, President Joe Biden visited the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, reflecting on the Act's significance. The Act, alongside the Voting Rights Act and Fair Housing Act, has promoted fairness and justice in the U.S. However, Biden emphasized that current Supreme Court rulings, restrictive voting laws, and the overturning of Roe v. Wade threaten these gains. He advocated for presidential accountability, Supreme Court term limits, and a stronger ethics code. Biden's visit, rescheduled after an attempt on former President Trump's life, also included him ending his reelection campaign and endorsing VP Kamala Harris.
