Several groups suing Texas over new immigration law | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The state of Texas is being sued over SB Four, an anti-immigrant bill that allows police to arrest people they suspect of crossing the border illegally. The bill also imposes fines and jail time. Governor Abbott is vowing to fight the lawsuit, arguing that Texas has the right to protect its borders when the federal government fails to do so. The lawsuit claims that SB Four is unconstitutional and infringes on federal authority over immigration.
