Police chase ends in shootout in Midlothian, suspect injured
SUMMARY: An early morning police chase ended with a crash and a shootout in Midlothian. The incident began in Dalworthington Gardens near Arlington, where the suspect hit a squad car. Following the crash, the suspect fired at officers, who then returned fire, critically injuring the suspect. The event occurred near an apartment complex on Ridgeway Drive, close to Highway 67. Woman’s death in sweltering heat at living facility has son calling for changes to protocol

Here & Now: The North Texas Behavioral Health Authority
SUMMARY: The North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) has received a $1.25 million state grant to create a Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT), a pilot program aimed at addressing youth mental health crises. The team will consist of six specialized staff who will work in six counties, responding to crises involving children and adolescents. The YCOT, an extension of the existing Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), will provide trauma-informed care and support to families in various settings, including homes, schools, and juvenile justice facilities. The program aims to reduce law enforcement interventions and emergency room visits by offering targeted, in-home care for up to 90 days.
