Students return to Trenton Elementary following fire
SUMMARY: Today marks the first day of classes for students in the Trend School District in Fannin County, located 55 miles northeast of Dallas. The delay in starting the school year was due to a fire that occurred in April at Mill Elementary School, causing significant damage. The fire also affected the nearby middle school. Both schools had to finish the previous school year at local churches and gymnasiums. Over the summer, the district worked to rebuild and bring in temporary buildings for the students. The superintendent assures that this is a temporary solution, with plans for a permanent building in about two years. Despite the setbacks, there is a sense of resiliency and hope in Trenton.
Today is the first day of school for students in the Trenton Independent School District in Fannin County. If you're asking, why so late? It's because a fire tore through the district's only elementary school back in April. But after a summer of hard work, the campus is open again. #TrentonISD #FanninCo #education

Rhode Island man suffers serious complications after botched veneer procedure in Houston
SUMMARY: Back in March, Shiron Robinson underwent a veneer procedure at Forever Veneers, an unlicensed Houston clinic, which cost him $8,700. Misled by their Instagram page boasting 54,000 followers and seemingly satisfied clients, Robinson flew from Rhode Island for the procedure. Post-treatment, he experienced severe issues including trouble chewing, open pockets in his gums, and a veneer coming off. It was revealed that Jaden Moror, who performed the procedure, lacked a dentistry license and now faces felony charges. Robinson continues to face significant dental problems and financial strain, seeking further dental care while cautioning others against misleading social media advertisements.

Texas woman credits program for her sobriety after overdose | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: On April 26, 2023, Megan Callahan overdosed on fentanyl and was revived by EMS with four doses of Narcan. Waking up in a jail cell, she was grateful to be alive after being charged with multiple felonies for drug possession. Callahan, a recovering alcoholic who relapsed, believed self-medicating with cannabis and other substances would help her depression. Represented by the Neighborhood Defender Service (NDS) in Hayes County, which uses a holistic defense model, Callahan received comprehensive support. Ultimately, a judge dropped all charges, and now in recovery, she advocates for others struggling with addiction to seek help.
