They are increasing patrols and surveillance for the July 4th celebrations to prevent a repeat incident. The Como Fest on July 3rd is a family-friendly event, but last year's after-hours block party turned violent. Police emphasize they are not over-policing but ensuring safety. Community members express frustration with those causing violence, stating it does not reflect the neighborhood's spirit. Fireworks should not be reported via 911 but through an online system or app.
