Teen killed in Lake Austin boat crash was incoming Lake Travis HS freshman | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: A 14-year-old boy, Caden Fork, was found dead in Lake Austin, Texas after a boating accident. Caden, who was about to start high school, was on a boat with six others when it lost control and he was thrown overboard. Although the others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Caden's body was recovered too late. This incident comes after another deadly accident involving a boat and jet ski on Lake Travis. Authorities stress the importance of water safety, including being aware of one's surroundings and wearing personal flotation devices at all times. Grief counselors will be available for the school community affected by Caden's passing.
The district says it will have crisis counseling teams will be available at Lake Travis Elementary, Hudson Bend, and Lake Travis High School beginning Wednesday, August 16.Â
