Texas AG Ken Paxton acquitted on all articles of impeachment | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The efforts to permanently remove Ken Paxton from office fell short on Saturday as none of the articles of impeachment reached the necessary 21 votes for conviction. Only two Republicans voted for some of the most serious charges. Paxton's defense team praised the vote, returning him to his position. Despite failing to get a conviction, house managers defended the decision to impeach Paxton, painting a picture of an out of control attorney general. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick criticized the charge and called for a constitutional amendment to change the impeachment process. House Speaker Dade Phelan praised the work of the House and accused Patrick of bias.
