Texas shooting spree: New details in murder of suspect’s parents | FOX 7 Austin

SUMMARY: Shane James Jr. faces multiple capital murder charges in Travis and Bexar counties, with new court documents revealing his possible motives for killing six people in December. James, diagnosed as schizophrenic, reportedly declined mentally after his 2015 Army discharge. He admitted to shooting his parents on December 5th after his father made a joke. Later, he traveled to Austin and killed four more individuals. Upon arrest, James displayed a smirk when discussing contacting his parents. He claimed to feel impending doom and engaged in erratic behavior prior to the murders. James is scheduled to appear in court on August 20th.

New details have been released in the murder of accused spree killer Shane James' parents, including that James suffered from schizophrenia after his discharge from the Army.

Tropical Storm Beryl: Mandatory evacuation orders issued in parts of Texas
